Our innovative piano program creatively engages children through the beginning learning stages and establishes a strong foundation for private piano study. In an hour-long group class, students will learn piano technique and develop musical literacy through singing games and music theory exercises. Each week, children meet one-on-one with a second instructor for a short private lesson from the Faber Purple Lesson Book. As students progress through the program, they will learn more complex skills and musical concepts as they expand their repertoire.

A keyboard or piano for at-home practice is required. Keyboards and the required books are available for purchase at PIANO FORTE SCHOOL OF MUSIC AND ART You will need to purchase your purple Faber book before the first class. Because of the intimate and personalized class experience, if you need to miss class, please connect with your teacher about any missed material. While we don’t offer makeups in our Kids’ Music Program, we hope you can join us for complementary programs like The Saturday Jam or other social-music making at the school. These are important educational experiences for practice and play.
